Ian de Souza graduated from Perth Technical College in 1963 with a Certificate in Commercial Art, followed four years later by an Associate Diploma in Art Teaching from the Western Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University).

He has taught and lectured at private and public bodies throughout Western Australia, and has exhibited throughout Australia and overseas.

His work appears in public and private collections world-wide.
